Get Your kicks on Route 66 - Day 2 & 3 of our trip
Yesterday we drove from Tennessee to Amarillo, Texas - not the most interesting landscape, but we did see some cool cropduster planes and we passed both Jimmie Johnson's (Weds.) and Dale Jr.'s (Thurs.) race car trucks heading back to NC from the race at Sonoma, CA. We made a brief stop at the Route 66 museum in Clinton, OK. It was pretty interesting - see pics below:

Today (Fri.) we drove from Amarillo to Flagstaff, AZ. We've now gone over 2000 miles in 3 days! I think that NM has some of the most attractive highway infrastructure - there were pretty overpasses and sound barriers - they really put some thought into making it look nice and fit the landscape.

We spent a little time in the Painted Desert/Petrified Forest National Park (east of Holbrook, AZ) this afternoon. Pictures from that are below - we saw a rainbow among other cool things. The kids liked the sights - so very different from home.
