Bringing home baby

Being that Gracie is baby number four, we are totally comfortable with a newborn. It's completely different than the two nervous new parents that brought Matthew home back in 2000.
Today, we drove out of the hospital parking lot and headed to Eckerd to drop off my prescriptions. Then we went out to lunch at Miss Lacy's. This classy Southern tea room restaurant (in a lovely old house in town) was a perfect place for Gracie's first meal out. While she slept through the meal, she later enjoyed the Lobster Bisque soup, grilled ham and cheese sandwich, and strawberry shortcake in the form of breastmilk. ;-)

It was a nice day so we ate on the porch of the old house/restaurant. Then, we went back to the drugstore, got my medicine, and even took a brief stroll into the department store next door (so Daddy could go to the restroom and Mommy and Gracie could browse the baby girl clothes).

Once we got home, we set her car seat on the dining room floor while Daddy unloaded the car. Winston came over to check the little one. He found her quite fascinating and rather non-threatening.
